We own the wood working shop a few doors from Catania's winery.
We so enjoyed strolling down the "block" for a visit with John to hear of his interesting tales about life and wine. The "hot" Italian sausage, Italian cookies and wine samplings were punctuated by his love of his venue and his wife and life in general. We miss his presence.
Rest in Peace, John.

We knew John thru his winery here in Florida. We love the wine but also how welcome je made us feel, always ready to chat with us about anything. He loved making wines and it shows in his products. So very sorry to hear of his passing. Thoughts and prayers to hos family.

I am so very sad to read this and learn of John's passing. I last saw John in the fall of 2020. I had gone to the winery and it was closed. I called John and he and Margarite met me at the winery and he opened the store just for me. I purchased 12 bottles of his outstanding balsamic vinegar and many bottles of olive oil. Th as t was when I first learned he was ill. It was heartbreaking. I enjoyed many wonderful visits to his Winery. He was so fun to talk to. I will miss him very much. My sincere condolences to his family. Peace be with you all.

As I read through all of my uncle John’s accomplishments I remember watching him as a kid and thinking, “I want to be like him.” He included me in his family fishing and camping trips. No one knows how important things will be in ones life but for me these were huge. John accepted and valued me. That’s everything to a lost teenager. It’s not too little to say that his caring gave me a leg of support the rest of my life.
THE FLOOM, THE FLOOM
LOVE YOU ALWAYS

My stepfather was one in a million. If you had the chance to know him you would understand how special he was. He had so many talents. He was a genius and I always loved listening to everything he had to say. If he loved you , he loved you with everything he had in him. If he did not like you , well that´s a different story . I was blessed to share the same birthday with him -10-4 and that for me was a gift in itself. I will miss him everyday of my life , but I know he is with us on this journey we continue . R.I.P Papa John there are no goodbyes , only new beginnings .

I am blessed to have had the pleasure to know John. I still have 2 bottles of his wine in my cabinet to enjoy. I loved to talk with him about the winery and still hope to see it one day. I had the pleasure of having John and Margarita and the perron family spend thee egg weekend at my house to escape a hurricane a few years ago only to spend most of the night awake as it changed course and came right over us. John always had good conversation and was always interesting. I can truly say I am honored to have known him. Rest In Peace my friend and know that a piece of your legacy lives on in me as I’m sure it does in so many others as well.
