WHEELERSBURG-Carl O. "Bud" Ferguson, 88, passed away Saturday, February 19, 2022 at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth. Bud was born June 7, 1933 in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Vincent Thomas Ferguson and Emma Francis Jewell Ferguson. Bud was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean War. He was employed by the Federal Government in the Justice Department and he was of the Baptist faith. Bud was a member of Aurora Lodge #48, El Hasa Shrine Club, Scottish Rite, Portsmouth Shrine Club, Raven Rock Hillbilly's, American Legion Post #23 and the New Boston Eagles. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Faye Stephenson Ferguson, August 23, 2001, whom he married March 7, 1952 in Portsmouth. Bud was also preceded in death by four brothers, Harold, Vincent, Jerry and Donald Ferguson and two sisters, Mildred Vernier and Martha Pollard. Bud is survived by two daughters, Joy (Gary) Vencill of South Point and Bonnie Fannin of New Boston; five grandchildren, Leslie Summers, of South Point, Victoria Vencill of Ironton, Lauren Yeager of Huntington, Ashley Vencill of South Point, Steven Fannin of Franklin Furnace; six great grandchildren and a special friend, Kathy Cooper.
Masonic services and funeral services for Bud will be 1:00 pm Monday, February 28, 2022 at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg. Interment will be in Friendship Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday 11:00 am until the 1:00 pm service time. Graveside Military Honors will be conducted by American Legion James Dickey Post #23.
