WEST PORTSMOUTH-Jerry Michael Hammonds, 67 of West Portsmouth Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Friday November 19, 2021 at Southern Ohio Medical Center. He was Born on December 29,1953 in Hillsboro, Ohio to the late Alton and Lola Banks Hammonds.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by 4 brothers; Jim, Donald, Gary and Lonnie Hammonds, 9 sisters; Ruby Wallace, Christa Jenkins, Thelma Jo Hammonds, Priscillia Barnett, Patricia Bainter, Brenda Jones, Barbara Gumz, Mary Montgomery, and Terri Lynn Pack.

Jerry was a very hard worker who could do anything, He loved all animals, and helping anyone he could. He worked in Auto Body, and Maintenance through the years.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 49 years. Delpha Carter Hammonds, whom he married on June 9, 1972. Two Sons James-Jeanie Hammonds, Jeff- Loretta Hammonds of West Portsmouth, a Daughter Joanie-Floyd Rollins of Minford. Two sisters, Jane Stamper and Marie Ernest. 3 Grandchildren. Makala-Rudy Stone. Michael-Nicole Rollins, Hailey Rollins, and a great granddaughter. Along with several nieces and nephews. Also surviving are His loving Fur kids, Luke and Dixie.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday November 24, 2021 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Alex Bloomfield officiating and interment in Vaughters Cemetery.
