PORTSMOUTH-Louis Francis Kielmar went to be with the love of his life, Freda, November 23, 2021 at his home. Born February 27, 1931, Louie attended St. Mary's High School. He worked at his fathers' Liberty Bar and Carry-Out. He then entered the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, serving on the USS Wisconsin. He married Freda White, the love of his life, September 15, 1951. Upon returning from the service, Louie was employed at the N&W Railroad until his retirement. He then owned and operated Louie's Carry-Out for several years. He is preceded in death by the love of his life, Freda, who passed December 22, 2018. Also, he lost his son John, grandson Justin Singer, great-grandson Alex Wiley and two sons-in-law, Steve Meadows and Alan Huff.

Louie is survived by seven children; Joan Meadows, Tim (Debbie) Kielmar, Susan Huff, Tom (Moni) Kielmar, Sally (Rick) Singer, Barbara (Pete) Hacker, and Cindy (Brent) Crumm. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and one great, great-grandson. Also surviving are his two favorite sisters in law, Linda White Rigsby and Mary White Bates. Also surviving are one sister, several nieces and nephews, and a dear friend of his and Freda's, Sue Frasher.

Louie was a hard worker and loved to stay busy. He will be greatly missed by his buddy, Max. He loved playing the lottery and was a proud member of the American Legion, James Dickey Post #23.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 P.M. Monday, November 29, 2021 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Rev. Brian Beal officiating. A visitation for friends and family will be 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M on Sunday, November 28, 2021 at Melcher Hammer Funeral Home in Portsmouth. A Recitation of the Rosary will follow at 7:00 P.M.

So sorry to hear of Louy's passing. He was a hard working business man with a kind heart. He always had time to sit and talk with anyone. I know he is happy that he is with his wife Frida once again. I have so many memories of riding motorcycles with Tim. We'll keep you all in our thoughts and prayers. . Love, Brent and Fluff

So sorry to hear of Louis´ passing. He was a great guy. Have memories of him and Freda when my mom (Phyllis) would visit with them. Condolences to the family.
