RUBY
WHEELERSBURG - Ruth H. Ruby, 88, of Wheelersburg, passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2013, at home.
She was born October 28, 1924, in Portsmouth, a daughter of the late John W. Moore and Naomi Conley Moore. She was a member of Wheelersburg United Methodist Church and had previously worked for Marting's and Scioto County Schools.
She was also preceded in death by her two husbands, Harold E. Fetters and Stanley G. Ruby. She is survived by her daughter, Melissa Fetters Berner and husband Gary of Springboro, Ohio; her two grandsons that she loved dearly, Michael and Jack Berner; a stepdaughter, Mary Ruby of Boston, Mass.; her special family: Catherine Grimm Gavigan and her husband Dr. Richard Gavigan of Greenville, N.C., and their children, Dr. Michael Gavigan and his wife Karen, Amy Gavigan Russell and her husband Glenn, and Jon Gavigan and his wife Jessica; and her loving best friend, Barbara Whitman, of Portsmouth.
Services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, October 7, 2013, at Edgewood Abbey Mausoleum at Memorial Burial Park, with Pastor Mark Bales officiating. Friends may call Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Swick-Bussa-Chamberlin Funeral Home in Wheelersburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or a charity of your choosing.
