Agnes Scheidt Obituary

AGNES M. SCHEIDT (nee HALFMAN) Age 81 of St. John, Indiana, passed away Sunday, August 17, 2003 at Witham Memorial Hospital in Lebanon, Indiana as a result of an automobile accident. She is survived by her husband, Francis Scheidt; one daughter, Gloria M. (Roger) Owen of Noblesville, Indiana; two sons, Michael J. (Kathryn) Scheidt of Westminster, Colorado, Gary F. (Lorene) Scheidt of St. John; 6 grandchildren, David, Robert, Paul, Mary, Katharine & Eric; two sisters, Marie Myers of Crown Point, Theresa Sims of St. John; four brothers, David (Annette) Halfman of Hammond, Indiana, Daniel (Agnes) Halfman of Crown Point, Jerry (Joan) Halfman of San Diego, California, Harold (Margie) Halfman of Lockport, Illinois. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 23, 2003 at 9:15 a.m. from Geisen Funeral Home and 10 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 93rd and Rt. 41, St. John, Indiana, Fr. Sammie Maletta, Fr. Gerald Schweitzer and Fr. Daniel Scheidt officiating. Interment will be at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Schererville, Indiana. Friends may call at Geisen Funeral Home, 109 N. East St., Crown Point, on Friday, August 22, 2003 from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Vigil service Friday at 6 p.m. and V.F.W. Auxiliary service at 7 p.m. Mrs. Scheidt was a life long member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, the Altar and Rosary Society, volunteered at the church office, a member of Catholic Order of Foresters and VFW Auxiliary St. John Memorial Post #717. She worked as a Lake County Chief Clerk at the criminal court for many years and was a frequent visitor at St. Anthony Nursing Home. Agnes was known as the "Heart" of the family.
