Annetta (Johnson) Fountain, age 67, passed away April 21, 2017 with her family and friends by her side. Annetta was born and raised in Gary, IN and later became a resident of Rockford, Illinois. She returned to Gary April 8, 2017. She graduated from Gary's Roosevelt High School in 1967. Annetta went on to receive a BS degree from DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois and a Master's Degree from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois. Her mother, Clara M. Johnson and father, Walter Johnson, precede Annetta in death. Annetta is also survived by her sister Valeria Johnson-Fletcher; brother Walter (Buddy/Jazzy) Johnson of Gary, IN; Special sister and cousin Anner (Douglas) Williams of Chicago, Illinois; nephew, Erick (Natasha) Johnson, of Aurora, CO; nieces Breonda and Shaylon Johnson of North Vegas, NV; great niece, Aidyn Johnson of Aurora, CO; great nephew, Myles Johnson of North Vegas, NV; long time special companion, Jerry Richardson, and his grandchildren, affectionately known as their grandchildren, Tremayne Jr., Malik Richardson, Aidyn Schneider and great grandchild, Tremayne III, all of Rockford, IL. A host of other relatives and friends remain to mourn her passing. Memorial service will take place on Friday, April 28, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church located at 1745 Fillmore Street, Gary, Indiana, Rev. Isaac Culver, Jr. presiding.
