Charles James Webb "Chuck" age 84, transitioned on December 29, 2020 at Methodist Northlake Hospital. He graduated from O.H. Bernard High School in 1954. Chuck attended Tennessee State University earning a B.S. Degree in Biology in 1961. He earned his Masters of Science Degree in Administration and Organizational Behavior from George Williams College in 1985. Chuck moved to Gary, Indiana in 1961. His hospital career began at Gary Methodist Hospital from 1962-1965 as a Chemistry Technologist in the Laboratory Department. His next position was the Chemistry Supervisor in the Laboratory Department at St. Mary Mercy Hospital of Gary from 1965-1967. In his continued pursuit of career advancement in 1967, he began working at Jackson Park Hospital as the Laboratory Manager/Supervisor (Day Shift) where he retired after 20 years. Chuck started and operated his own Clinical Laboratory, "Gary Clinical Lab" located on the 6th Floor of the Gary National Bank Building from 1971 to 1976. His professional and social affiliations include: American Society of Clinical Pathologists, Clinical Laboratory Management Association and Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity. He also was a active member and Deacon at First Church of God in Gary, IN. Chuck is proceeded in death by both parents, Charlie Nathan and Mary Lawrence Webb, his sister Fannie (Jimmy) Stewart. To forever cherish his memory is his devoted wife Alyce F. Webb, his loving daughter Charlese D. Webb, devoted sister, Mary Scruggs, Lexington, KY; brother, Bennett (Belinda) Webb, sister Juanita Cherry and sister-in-law Rochelle Melton. Nephews: Greg (Alice) Scruggs, Brian (Diane) Stewart, John (Regina) Cherry, Bennett Jr. (Melissa) Webb, Nathan (Karlen) Webb; Diamond (Kim) McClam and Eric Scruggs; Nieces: MaryLynn (Tony) Miller, Leona (Andre) Howard and Shana Webb. Also cherishing his memory are several great nieces, nephews, friends and devoted family friend Gregory Spann. Visitation, Monday, January 4, 2021 from 9:00am -10:30am; "Hour of Power" Service to follow at 11:00am at the Guy & Allen Chapel 2959 West 11th Ave, Gary, IN.
