Charlie Quinn Obituary

Charlie Quinn Jr., 78, of Gary, Indiana entered eternal rest on November 3, 2021. Charlie was born in Dyersburg, Tennessee on February 27, 1943, to Charlie Sr. and Nellie Quinn. He accepted Christ at an early age. Charlie was a graduate of Bruce High School. Charlie served in the US Army and was employed by U.S. Steel for over thirty years. Charlie and Olema Quinn were joined in holy matrimony on December 23, 1967. They were blessed to have 52 years of marriage. Charlie was a mighty man of God, who was known for his powerful prayers. As a former member of Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, he served as church trustee and sung in the Male Chorus. He recently became a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. Charlie is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Sr. and Nellie Quinn, brothers, John Quinn, and Willie Quinn; sisters, Elizabeth Davis, Ola Moody, Rose Wynn and Doretha Quinn; son, Barry Adams. He is survived by his loving wife, Olema Quinn of Gary, Indiana; his stepson, Anthony Sewell, his grandson, Anthony (Sarah) Sewell, his great-grandson, Daniel Sewell; sisters, Mary Thomas and Charlotte Gauldin; brother-in-law, Vernon (Brenda) Hill; sister-in-law, Lue Ida Lattimore; special nephew, Larry Williams; lifelong friend, James Martin, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Visitation: Sunday, November 14, 2021, from 12:00-7:00 PM with family hour 6:00 -7:00 PM at Guy & Allen Funeral Home 2959 W. 11th Avenue Gary, IN. Funeral Services: November 15, 2021, 11 AM at St Paul Missionary Baptist Church 2300 Grant St. Gary, IN. Reverend Thurman Dillard Officiating. Interment: Oak Hill Cemetery.

Olema and the Quinn family my condolence and love go out to you. My best friend will truly be missed. A friend for over 70 years. A Godly man that loved his Wife and family dearly. C Q would call me every night at 9 pm did this for over 7 years. Could have no better friend. He is with my Wife Bobbie with our God, they had fun here on this earth with each other so I know and believe they are loving being with our God Who art in Heaven.
