Papa - I have only been in the family a short time, however, you have received me with all your love. I love you and was happy to have you in my life as long as I did. I will try my best to take care of your son and grandchildren. I want you to know that I love them with all my heart and will try to always keep a smile on their face just like you did. I know they will never forget their "driving grades" with the golf cart! And I will always try to make sure all the pictures Dale hangs are "straight". I love you and am glad you are finally at peace and painfree! We will see you soon! - Love Sheri Dahlgren

Dad,(Papa)I know your resting in peace. I find great comfort in knowing you will be watching over us and guiding us in our daily activities. We:Dale,Sheri,Dale, and I will raise your grandchildren just the way you taught us. We will miss you deeply. God will give us comfort and strength through the difficult times.I am sure there will be many. We will find strength through you. I want to thank you for all the great times and memories you have given me. Many of them are personal and are best if not mentioned. However, I must mention the (papa face) the kids will always practice. Thanks for teaching them that! Looking back over the years I am glad we shared so many happy times. The times we had without a (papa face). I know your in a much better place than we are. I also know we will be together again when it our time. You will help us all throughout our lives and knowing we will see you again gives me great comfort. Justin is so very afraid that you will forget him. Papa he needs help with this. Thanks. I love you with all my heart. Our memories will live in my heart forever. Until we meet again. Your daughter, Debbie.

When I hear of an old football teammate or classmate dying, my thoughts go back to August of 1952. Dale and his Class of 1954 classmates, Teddy Stahura, Warren Bardsley, Gordy Teeguarden - and so many others - reported to football practice with a great excitement. 1953 was to be "The" year for Wirt Football. As it turned out, we didn't win a single game that year, but we all did make friendships that have endured over the years. Now, like Dale - some team members are gone. I like to think that at some point in the future, we all will meet again, young and healthy - to play once again the game that we all loved.

Until that day fellow Trooper, rest well - and be ready to "huddle" one more time with your old friends and teammates.
