I will miss my Genius Nephew! You were always so kind, considerate, and patronizing. You never had a negative word to say about anyone...I have always had the utmost respect for you and your abilities...Rest in Heaven

As we journey through this life true friends are cherished. Don and I were brought up in a time when community was a defining moment in our lives. I will always embrace the wonderful memories shared growing up in the neighborhood with Don and his family. I send my love and prayers to each and everyone! He will be missed.

Post
Don and I first met at West Side High Scool in Gary.
I thought he was very handsome and very thin.
Never in a million years did I think he and I would connect less than 10 years later or that he would become the love of my life.
He let go and let God at 9:40 p.m. on September 30, 2019 with me standing right by his side; blessing his transition into Heaven.
He was a wonderful man, husband and father (who was in a great deal of pain) and died from a very rare form of cancer called, Anaplastic Thyroid Cancer.
All of his doctors at Three (3) different hospitals in less than three snd s half 3 1/2 weeks were intrigued by this cancer that ravished his esophagus... and and left him breathing from a ventilator.
If you hear this medical term again, please note that it is fatal, and cherish the months, if not the few weeks, you have left with your loved ones.
Just try to make them comfortable and do your best to manage their jerking, insufferable pain.
I am his wife, his partner, his friend!
