Dorothy Duncan Obituary

Dorothy J. Duncan passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at the University of Chicago. She was a retired employee of Bowman, Heintz attorney at law with 40 years of service. She was a faithful member of Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church, Gethsemane Choir, Director of the Praise dancers. Dorothy was preceded in death by husband Attwood Duncan Jr., parents Capus and Mary Adams, Capus Adams Jr., and Loyve Vann. She leaves to cherish her precious memories 5 children Attwood Duncan III, Michael Duncan, Sheila Duncan-Walker, Daric (Jessica) Duncan, and Eric (Alva) Muhammad, 3 sisters Carolyn Summers, Barbara Lewis, and Sharon Gavin; 2 brothers James (Agoh) Adams, and Eric (Cindy) Adams; 16 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Visitation Saturday, March 11, 2023, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. with funeral services to follow at 11:00 a.m. all at the Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church, 1095 Jackson St. Officiating Pastor Curtis A. Lee. Interment at Evergreen Cemetery.
