Douglas R. Kennedy was the youngest son of eleven children born on November 29, 1953 in Gary, Indiana to the late Albert Sellers Kennedy, Sr. and Mary Odell Kennedy (nee Hunter). Douglas completed his formal education in the public school system of Gary, Indiana. In August of 1972, he became employed at Bethlehem Steel Corporation which later became ArcelorMittal Steel as is now known as Cleveland -Cliffs in Burns Harbor, Indiana the second largest steel industry in the United States. Douglas retired with distinction from Cleveland - Cliffs on July 1, 2016 after 44 years of services. He is preceded in death by his parents and 6 siblings. He leaves to cherish his fond memories three sister Margaret Kennedy -Carr, Barbara Kennedy -Ellis and Linda Kennedy-Johnson; 1 brother Dallas Vernard (Annette ) Kennedy and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation, Friday, September 24, 2021 from 12 noon -8:00p.m. with family hours from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at the Guy & Allen Chapel 2959 West 11th Avenue.
