Dwight "Sonny" Hollis Jr. was born to the late Estell and Dwight Hollis Sr. in Gary, IN on May 10, 1950. He graduated from Roosevelt School Class of 1969 and served in the U.S. Navy. He married Lee Ann Hollis and to this union two children were born. Sonny loved people as a whole. He is preceded in death by his daughter LaTana Hollis, parents, sister Joyce Hollis and brother David Hollis. He leaves to cherish his memories devoted wife Lee Ann Hollis, sons Dwight III (Margaret) Hollis and Roderick Hollis, step-daughter Kyiesha Smith, sister Gwendolyn (Ronald) Smith, grandsons Dwight IV, Israel, Michael Hollis, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and caretakers Twanna Cole and Stevetta Graham. Visitation Sunday January 10, 2021 from 12 to 8:00 p.m. at the Guy & Allen Chapel 2959 W. 11th Ave. Graveside Service Monday, January 11, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Park.
