Age 94, passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 surrounded by family. Eva as she was known by family and friends was born in Natchez, MS to the late Sandy and Maggie Cooper. She was the youngest of (9) daughters and (6) sons. She was a faithful member of Peter's Rock M.B. Church for over 40 years. Eva was preceded in death by parents, siblings, (2) grandsons Marcus and Jermaine Gardner and special niece, Virginia Pleasant. Eva leaves to cherish her memories, loving and devoted husband of 70 years, Willie P. Segrest, Sr., (3) daughters, Doris Cooper, Patricia (nee Cooper) Gardner, Jeanette (Bishop Samuel) Smith (2) sons Willie Jr., Derell Segrest all of Gary, IN. (6) grandchildren William "Mingo" (Lajoi) Gardner of Maricopa, AZ. Shalanda , Jemillah and Anthony Gardner all of Gary, IN. Audra Cooper and Latisha Bryant both of Indianapolis, IN. (2) brother-in-laws Homer and Noah Segrest, (1) sister-in-law Deliah Hardy. Special nephew Leroy "L.C." Cooper, Jr., special friend Clotine Ballard and a host of other relatives, family and friends. Special Thanks to: Judith Rochelle, Southern Care Hospice and Noble Home Health. Visitation: Thursday, December 12, 2019 from 9 to 11 a.m. Funeral Service 11:00 a.m. All services at Peter's Rock M.B. Church 1725 E. 21st. Ave. Gary, IN. Pastor Shawn Vaughn, officiating. Interment Evergreen Memorial Park
