Florence Whitmore Obituary

FLORENCE WHITMORE Florence Whitmore, age 82, of DeMotte, Indiana, passed away on Monday, December 3, 2007 at Crestmark Nursing & Rehab of Roselawn, Indiana. She was born on May 18, 1925 in Highland, Indiana to Nellie (nee Hilgers) and Allert Cleveringa, both deceased. She was a resident of DeMotte, Indiana for 50 years. On December 23, 1944 in Kentland, Indiana she married Daniel C. Whitmore. They were married 57 years when he passed away on October 22, 2002. She attended Lake Village Public Schools and after her children were grown she worked for DeVries Egg farm for 20 years, where she enjoyed working and making new friends. After retiring she enjoyed her grandchildren, gardening and giving away the fruits of her labor. Florence is survived by her children, Thomas (Frances) Whitmore of McMinnville, Tennessee, Connie (Glen) Dykstra of DeMotte, Indiana and Debbie (Tim) Armstrong of Wheatfield, Indiana; four grandchildren, Todd Whitmore of McMinnville, Tennesse and Bryan (Shellie) Whitmore of Memphis, Indiana, Daniel Peo of Attica, Indiana and Kelli Peo of Terre Haute, Indiana; two great granddaughters, Abbigail and Allison Whitmore; one sister, Nellie Kriske of Las Vegas, Nevada; and one brother, Richard Cleveringa of Highland, Indiana. Florence was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Daniel C. Whitmore; one brother and four sisters. Friends may call on Friday December 7, 2007 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with the Funeral Service at 1:00 PM at Jackson Funeral Service, 200 Third St. Southwest, DeMotte, Indiana with Pastor Lary Sakel officiating.
