Frank "Poppy" Webster, Jr. age 68 of Gary, Indiana departed his earthly life on Friday, December 21, 2018. He was born June 6, 1950 in Leeds, AL to the late Bernice Hosea Carter and Frank Webster, Sr. Frank was a retiree of Gary U.S. Steel where he was head griever for United Steel Workers Local 1014. After retiring he became "Coach Webster" devoting his time to mentoring youth through his many years of coaching Gary Miller Little League baseball. Frank was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather Lee Henry Carter; siblings Henry Espy (Bay), Leonia and Penelope (Penny); niece Twyla Carter. Frank is survived by his loving and devoted wife Julia Webster; sons Frank Webster, III (Tierra), David Webster, Sr. (Tiana), Reginald Webster, Sr. (Miko); Grandchildren Hannah, Frank Joseph, Nicole, MaKayla, Raylene, Reginald Jr., Ryan, Rayshawn, Derrick, David Jr.; great-grandchildren Kalin, Keelan, De'Reyonna; siblings Ronald (Diann), Arthur (Alisha), Hosea (Jacqui), Florence, Remona, Karen, Janiece, and Andrea. Affectionately known as "Unka Bruiser" to a host of nieces and nephews dear to his heart. Visitation Saturday, December 29, 2018 from 9:00a.m.-11:00a.m. with funeral services to follow at 11:00a.m. all at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, 2325 W 21st Ave, Gary, IN. Interment Evergreen Memorial Park.

Just thinking about my big brother today. I am grateful that you were on loan to us. You were quite the character and truly your own self, like non other. Your life was not at all in vain for you have impacted many many lives. The mellowest of the mellowest. That was you. Now you get to chill :)

I just won'ted say ,when I'was 13'14 years of age;I always admired how you dress and kept your hair laid ,as a teen I'LOOK UP TO,when I'told you that ,you got EMOTIONAL" because you never new-Intil I' TOLD YOU.....YES I'M gonna MISS YOU,BECAUSE it was you who made it possible for me to find my GRANDSONS DESTIN,and TASEAN, I'LOVE YOU'and always have.....YES'this is STARR'S FATHER,PETER TAYLOR. the reason I'did'en make it-is because of automobile problem.
