Sister M. John Vianney
November 20, 2006
Dear Richard and Caroline,
Your dear Mom has been on my mind for the past week. I suppose it's because I was remembering the tenth anniversary of your dear father's death. I so meant to call and tell her.
I have none but the fondest memories of her from our happy years at Andrean and the deep friendship that has continued for more than thirty years since my transfer. Your parents even came to visit me in Pennsylvania two or three times! (Of course, my proximity to Gettysburg may have been another factor.)
It has been a blessing to know your dear Mom and Dad. It is now your responsibility to continue the legacy of Christian virtue which was so much a part of their lives.
While I share your grief, I also am reminded of the hymn: "The Strife Is O'er." She is now at peace in God's Presence, reunited with the love of her life.
She will be sorely missed. I tried to stop by to visit her whenever I was in the area. We did have some wonderful, faith-filled conversations.
With sympathy, love, and prayers,
Sister M. John Vianney, SS.C.M.

Richard and Caroline,
My deepest sympathies to both of you at this time. Even though it's been many years since I have seen you, I still remember the times we did get together especially with Aunt Trudy and Aunt Marie. Those were the times, remember? My thoughts and prayers are with you and your families. God Bless. Love, Marcia Dowdy
