James Belongia Obituary

James Wilfred Belongia, age 82 of Valparaiso, Indiana passed away on Thursday morning, August 17, 2023.

James was born on August 9, 1941 in Star Lake, Wisconsin to parents Wilfred and Dorothy (Yaeger) Belongia.

He is survived by his wife: Annabelle Belongia of Valparaiso, Indiana

His children: Michael (wife Karen) Belongia, Marvin (wife Barb) Scheeringa, Martin (wife Anita) Scheeringa, Debra (husband Steve) Kinder, Ruth (husband Jerry) Modglin, William Scheeringa.

His daughters in law: Carol Scheeringa, Canddi Scheeringa.

Many Grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

His sister Jean (husband Tim) Abel, Julaine Belongia Hale and Kristin Belongia.

He is preceded in death by his parents Wilfred and Dorothy Belongia, brother Joseph Belongia, sister Janet Pelletier, sister Joan Bellongia, son Peter Scheeringa, son Jeff Scheeringa.

James later moved to Tomahawk, Wisconsin where he graduated from Tomahawk High School and then went into the Air Force as mechanic.

James retired from ISG Steel.

He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, camping and traveling.

James was a wonderful husband, beloved son, dedicated father and generous friend.

He was an Air Force veteran.

A celebration of James' life will be held at a later date.
