JEFFE SMITH-DESADIER
Born August 30, 1930 to the union of the late Robert and Maggie Smith. She was the youngest of fifteen children born to this union. Jeffe was baptized in Jesus name under the pastorate of the late Elder Felton Walls Sr. Her strong sense of independence, confidence, and family loyalty made her a much loved icon among her family members. She had a strong inner strength that made all who knew her respect her straight forward approach to any and all situations. She attended Roosevelt High School in Gary, IN. Shortly after graduation she united in Holy matrimony to Alton DeSadier Sr. To this union two sons were born, Alton Jr and Marvin. Jeffe departed this life on May 15, 2010 in Merrillville, IN. Jeffe is preceded in death by both parents; 6 sisters and 7 brothers. She leaves to mourn her passing two children, Alton (Gina) Jr of Merrillville, IN and Marvin of Atlanta, GA; sister, Victoria Simmons of Gary, IN; sister-in-law, Lena Smith of Gary, IN; 5 grandchildren, Kandace, Stacy, and Kiesha DeSadier all of Indianapolis, IN, Jarmon DeSadier of Stone Mountain, GA and Alton DeSadier III (Tre) of Merrillville, IN; 3 great-granddaughters, Kourtnee, Kiera, Sydney DeSadier all of Indianapolis, IN; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation Saturday, May 22, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with Funeral Services beginning at 11:00 a.m. All services will be held at El-Bethel Apostolic Church of Jesus, 2316 Taney Place, Elder Fred Abram officiating. Interment Evergreen Memorial Park.
