John Hunter Obituary

JOHN W. HUNTER Lake Station, Indiana Age 71 passed away February 25, 2006. He was a retired millwright from Local 1043; a member of American Legion Post 454; a veteran of US Army. He was also a 32nd Degree Mason with the Dunes Lodge. He will be missed by his wife of 26 years, Thongkhong Hunter of Lake Station; sons, Nelson, Johnny, Steven (Andrea Hollinger) Hunter, all of Lake Station; daughter, Norma Hunter of Lake Station; grandson, Steven Garland Todd Hunter; loving in-laws, Somchanh Dytsirth, Khan Dytsirth Phongsabath (Sovay) Dytsirth and Manop and Somchnmutl Chareonsook; cousins, Carol (Gilbert) Manns of Lake Station. He was preceded in death by son, Steven Ellis Hunter, sisters, Violet Szparaga, Ellen Dinsmore, Grace Harris, brother, Norman Hunter. Funeral services will beheld Friday, March 3, 2006 at 7:30 p.m. at the Christopher Funeral Home, 1307 Central Ave., Lake Station with Rev. Darrel P. Schultz officiating. Friends may visit with the family from Friday from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Christopher Funeral Home. 219-962-4115

John was elder millwright when I entered the apprenticeship. He was one of the first of the millwrights I met. He was a hard worker and good union man. John will be sadly missed. My deepest sympathy goes out to the Hunter Family.....
