Joseph Ksenak Jr.

JOSEPH KSENAK JR. Hobart, Indiana Age 81 passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at St. Mary's Medical Center. He was born on July 8, 1927 in Hobart to Joseph and Mary Ksenak Sr. He lived in Lake County, all of his life, except for a period of 3 years, when he lived in Martinsville, Indiana, so he could be close to his son and daughter-in-law and 2 grandsons, whom he loved and missed. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He served in the 194th F & BN. His mother passed away when he was a baby, lovingly raised by his stepmother, Helen. He retired from U.S. Steel Co. A member of U.S.W. Local 1014. Preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Sr., Mary, and Helen Budzielek; brother & sister-in-law, John and Vivian Ksenak. Survivors: loving wife of 53 years, Agnes (Glemczyk) Ksenak; son, Michael (Susan) Ksenak; 2 grandsons, Jarrett and Grant Ksenak of Martinsville; brothers, Mike of Miller, Frank (Janice) of Hobart; sisters, Irene (late Frank) Mochaitis & Monica (Willis) Wiley of Hobart; leaving behind many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews; cousins, whom he loved dearly. He loved to take pictures, and bake for his family and friends. Friends may visit from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at Rendina Funeral Home, 5100 Cleveland St., Merrillville. Prayer service 4 p.m. Friday. Funeral service 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home; 10 a.m. at St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Church with Rev. Michael Evanick officiating. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
