To the LaBarge family -
I just learned of Joe's passing and want to express my deepest sympathy. I hadn't talked with Joe for some time, and I was shocked by the news. I always enjoyed our conversations about working at Inland Steel. It was always a pleasure discussing baseball card collecting with him, and I will miss seeing him at the card shows. Joe was a big help to me after we both left Inland. We would spend hours working on our resumes and searching the job listings. He made that pain-staking process much more fun with his humorous quips! Friends that remember Joe from Inland Steel and the card shows know that he was one of a kind! He was a great man and a hard worker. I'll really miss you, Joe. "Check the price in Beckett's!"

Dear Friends,
We were honored and proud to know Joe. The wake and funeral were a wonderful tribute to him. You did a great job of choosing the perfect readings, songs and people to have a special part in the funeral Mass. Thank you for asking me to speak. I spoke from my heart and for the many people that Joe called his friend. You know we will do whatever we can to ease the burden of this tremendous loss. We love you all!

Dear JoAnne & Family
I am sorry for your loss. Joe was a very good man, and I will always remember the mentoring he provided on the fine art of baseball card collecting. I still have the very first set he gave me when my son was born in 1992. I'll always remember the "soft" spot in his heart he had for the kids at all those shows. He will be missed.

My family feels blessed to have had Joe in our lives. He touched us more than he probably knew. We're going to miss his sense of humor and his bad jokes, his random phone calls bragging about the Sox, but most of all we'll miss his friendship. Joe will always be missed and never forgotten.
With love,
