Kevin Ray Tinsley departed this life on Wednesday June 9, 2021 at the age of 56. Kevin, born to Ben and Betty Tinsley on February 25, 1965, attended Lew Wallace High School, and later at the steadfast insistence of his mother, earned his GED. He would go on to become a Certified Addiction and Drug Abuse Consultant (CADAC) in the state of Indiana, drawing on experiences from his own long journey with substance abuse and recovery, to assist many others on their pathway to sobriety. Kevin was a member of the New Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church and accepted Christ at an early age. He will be remembered for his remarkable intelligence, his sense of humor, his ability to make people laugh and perhaps most of all, his ability to laugh at himself. Kevin was preceded in death by his father Ben Tinsley, several uncles, aunts and cousins. He leaves to cherish his memory, a devoted mother, Betty Tinsley of Crown Point, IN; loving brother Steven (Anitra) Tinsley of Coconut Creek, FL; daughter Kewanna (Renaldo) Thomas of Indianapolis; 6 grand children: Renijah Thomas (age 17); Reniyah Thomas (age 14); Renaldo Thomas Jr. (age 13), Betty Thomas (age 12), Reanna Thomas (age 9), Reyjon Thomas (age 9) all of Indianapolis; one aunt Beatrice Harrell of Chicago, IL; one nephew Steven Christopher Tinsley of Coconut Creek, FL; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
