MARIAN G. FOSS
(nee Musial)
Marian G. Foss (nee Musial), age 91 of Griffith carried peacefully on the wings of angles, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, November 7, 2009, surrounded by family. She was born March 8, 1918 in Chicago, IL to the union of Maria (Pugh) and Martin Musial who preceded her in death, as well as her step-mother Mary Gulnick who raised her. Marian was the beloved wife of Vernon H. Foss who preceded her in death January 10, 1971; devoted mother of Patricia (James) Krecik of Crown Point; the late Donald (Judy) Foss of Griffith, Timothy (Sharon) Foss of Schererville and Marianne (Ziggy) Siurek of DeMotte; warmhearted grandmother of 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, one who preceded her in death; two sisters and four brothers also preceded her in death. She will be remembered by three sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law, countless nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Her home was always filled with love where you could find her serving a meal or dessert, working on crafts and rooting for the Chicago Cubs. Aside from being a caring homemaker, she was a devout member of St. Mary Church, the Altar & Rosary Society of St. Mary, Highland Grandmother's Club (president from 1984-1986), and Community Hospital volunteer for over 24 years. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 13, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic :Church, 525 Broad Street, Griffith, IN with Rev. Theodore Mens officiating. Burial at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville, IN. Visitation Thursday, November 12, 2009 from 3:00-8:00 p.m. (prayer service at 4:00 p.m.) at White Funeral Home, 921 West 45th Avenue, Griffith, IN and on Friday, November 13, 2009 from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Anthony Hospice, 203 Franciscan Drive, Crown Point, IN 46307. For information please call White Funeral Home at 219-924-4100.
