1952 - 2022

Our Beloved Marilyn "Marl" Lockett, 69, passed away on April 4, 2022, at Methodist Hospital Northlake in Gary, Indiana. Marilyn was a lifetime resident of Gary born to Amos and Flora Haynes on November 25, 1952. Employed by Gary Community School Corporation for 21 years at the time of her retirement, Marilyn just enjoyed life! She loved gardening, shopping, and she especially loved being a loving "Gram-

Mar" to her precious great grandchildren.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her loving Parents; her devoted Husband, Zachary L. Lockett; her Son, Lawrence Carlton Haynes, Sr.; her Sisters: Dorothy Haynes, Beatrice Thompson, and Rosie Allen; her Brothers: Cleo, Thomas, and Leon Haynes; her Granddaughter, Dauntanisha Brown; and longtime Family Friends, Bessie Ann Jelks (Best Friend since childhood) and Robbie Britton ("Play Mother").

Marilyn leaves behind a loving Son, Julius Lee; Grandchildren, Laurence Carlton Haynes and Keitha Welch; two beautiful Sisters, Mildred Lise and Evelyn (Tommy) McMillan; twelve Great Grandchildren; and many loving Family Members and Friends.

Marilyn's Homegoing Service will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at 11 AM CT at the New Mount Moriah Baptist Church (1917 Carolina Street, Gary, IN 46407). The Honorable Pastor W.N.
