I have so many good memories of walking to Shirley’s house when Orlando was just in diapers. HIs head was barely above the bottom of the screen door and he would greet me with a big smile, and could hardly wait to sit on my lap and listen to my stomach, because I was carrying Lin. He would fall asleep talking to her. Marla, “Lanny”, and Lin were like cousins, growing up. He moved away, but over the years, when ever he returned that smile was always there, always the same.
The last time I saw him was at Shirley’s wake, and even then he managed to show that smile. So what can I say about someone that I’ve known his entire life and was like a son? I can say that he was taught to be kind, caring, and respectful, and he loved his Mother and Father. So, Orlando, as you stand at the door of the Father, which has opened to you, flash that beautiful smile and know you are HOME.
Always,
Joy Sanders

I remember Orlando as being a happy, loving person. Their was not a time that I saw him that he wasn’t excited about being with his Children, Family, and Friends. I would just see a spark in his eye, about being around his Children. The last time I was in his presence, we were at the home going of his mom. We had such a great time, laughing, dancing, and just reminiscing about the past. At the end of his life, I spoke with him, told him I loved him and we prayed. In my minds eye, I saw the smile and the spark and excitement that he had when we spoke,One thing for sure, and two things for certain, I know with the presence of his children, that Orlando transitioned with the Lord in peace, I would like to give my love and deepest sympathy to the family and friends and want to say a job well done, rest well my Brother
