PETER T. THOMAS Nashville, TN/Gary, IN Age 64, a former resident of Gary, IN, for 60 years, passed away Friday, May 4, 2007, at Hospice Alive in Nashville, TN. Peter was the only child born to the late Lula Everhart and Jimmy Everhart on September 13, 1942, in Birmingham, AL. He moved to Gary at the age of 4 years old. Peter was a faithful member of Liberty Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor Jessie James. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy where he served his country for 9 years. He retired from LTV Steel Corporation due to a car accident, April 14, 2001. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rita Thomas, grandparents, Pearl and Adam Thomas, mother and stepfather, Lula and Jimmy Everhart, uncle, Henry Thomas, aunt, Pearlie M. Fayson, and cousin, Charles Reese, Jr. Peter is survived by his loving and devoted children, Michael (Twila) Thomas Robinson, Pamela Thomas, Idreen Odioms, Patrick (Tonya) Thomas, John Thomas, Laquinta (Chris) Salary, Link (Brittney) Thomas; devoted aunt, Irene Coker; cousin, Floyd Fayson; 20 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends. Visitation Friday, May 11, 2007 from 12 to 8:00 p.m. Family hours from 6 to 8:00 p.m. at the Guy & Allen Chapel, 2959 W. 11th Ave. Funeral service Saturday, May 12, 2007, at 1:00 p.m. at Liberty Baptist Church, 2301 Roosevelt Street.
