My Dearest Niece...Heaven has gained another "Angel"! Rachel and I would check on one another from time to time...just to chat and see how things were going; no matter the distance between us. I miss talking to her. She is always on my mind. You never really truly miss a person until they're gone. I use to help her drive when the military would move her from one State to another. I never imagined I would lose another loved one at an early age. Rachel reminded me of my sister Bettie, o
who also passed away at the age of 50. I know she is in a better place! She has joined our other loved ones in Heaven! I always believe that the storms may rise and the winds may blow...but our love for our beloved Rachel Elizabeth David will always be in our hearts. We will see you soon! My prayers are with her father and mother (David & Dinah), her brothers (Isaac & Joseph) and all the rest of our family, friends, and those who knew and loved her.

I was proud to serve with Rachel at the hospital in Ballad I Iraq in 2009. I was the daytime Chaplain and she was the night Chaplain. Because of the time difference we didn’t get to talk a lot, but I admired her professionalism and love for people

Chaplain David was an excellent pastor. I remember how I would always provide feedback DURING her sermons at WPAFB. The craziest thing was that she would answer me back but never lose her thoughts Chaplain David had a heart for Gods People and enjoyed pastoring. Thanks for the “Wet Wipes” they are forever apart of my purse Rest with our father till we meet again

Rachel was my sister. She expressed the love and compassion of God and lived her life as a vessel of God. I will truly miss her physical presence; her smile, her laugh and her hugs. I know that her spirit lives on inside of all whom she touched and that I will see her again in heaven. Lord, thank you for blessing the earth with Rachel. Comfort and guide her parents, brothers, nieces, nephews cousins and those who served with her in ministry.

If love and kindness could be the words to describe Rachel, that is the least I could say about her. Gods Joy and Truth are even better words to use. But you need to combine them all for a better life that she celebrated.

Condolences from the Rick Martin family. I had the honor of promoting Chaplain David to the rank of Major and enjoyed serving with Rachel David at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, NJ. Our daughter Heidi served with Chaplain David at Joint Base MDL as well. Rachel David leaves a legacy of service to the Air Force and our country and a life of ministry to all. Blessings to the entire David family during this time of grieving. Rick Martin, Maj Gen, USAF (Ret)

To Dinah and family you have my deepest sympathy in the death but heavens gain of your beloved daughter. May you find comfort in knowing we share in your grief. I have known Rachel since she was a child. Rachel was a beautiful person and achieved all that she strived for. Rachel made us all very proud and I want to thank her for her service, beautiful personality and just being one of most respectful young ladies in our neighborhood. She will now receive what God promised Eternal life. Gone but never forgotten.
