He was an awesome teacher, always made class exciting. I never missed his classes. My prayers and thoughts are with your family.

My condolences to the Markwart family, Rich was my database design teacher at Ivy Tech and a very good one at that. He really made the class a great learning experience and always had a smile on his face and a funny story or what he called a "history lesson". He was a great person and a great teacher and will be greatly missed.

My deepest condolences to the Markwart family. I had Rich for business law and am truly grateful for his positive influence throughout my education The wisdom and knowledge he shared will stay with me for the rest of my life. He will be greatly missed. May God grant you comfort and peace during your time of sorrow.

Rich was a part of my childhood...as were all the Markwarts...so many memories from growing up that I treasure. Staying at the house near the Dunes, parties with the "MTC" group...I am so sorry for your loss. I am thinking of all of you and praying for you.

Markwart family
Rich made work and committee meetings so much more enjoyable over the years. Every day, every meeting, every tedious presentation was made enjoyable when Rich was involved.

Mr. Markwart was the best teacher I have ever had, he used his own methods and taught from what he knew, not by the book.The world needs more teachers like him who truly love what they do. He was not only a great teacher but a great person and will be eminently missed by all who knew him and all the students who never got the privelage of having him. He made such an impact on my life in such a short time and he will never be forgotten. My prayers go out to his family, so very sorry for your loss.

Mr. Markwart was an amazing person! His lectures were unforgettable and thought provoking. He cared more about the success of the student than anyone else I know. The influence he had on my life changed its course for the better. I will truly miss him, and extend my condolences to his family and friends.

I send my sincerest condolences. Mr Markwart has made the most profound impact in my life, as my business professor at Ivy Tech. My self along with our entire business program will miss his hilarious stories, and amazing attitude. I miss miss my favorite ENTP personality type.

Working on theater projects with Rich was always fun. He always had a positive outlook, a "can-do" attitude and a great sense of humor. He raised two great boys, and although he left us too soon, that is a sign of his rewarding life. Our prayers are with his family in this sad time.

Markwart family, I just wanted to let you guys know that I am a former student of Mr. Markwart. He was one of the best teachers I have ever had in my school career. He was one of my best inspirations and he made the class so much fun and interesting. He will never be forgotten. You guys are in my prayers!

Lynn and I wish you solace and healing at this difficult time. Know that our love and our prayers are with you all, and that we remember the good times, punting on the Thames, Peter and Krystal's wedding, and so many others. Rich was the subject of so many "chili" stories I would tell people! I will miss him greatly, and pray you will find peace.

My deepest sympathies to the Markwart family. Mr. Markwart was a great teacher as well as an amazing person. He had so much to offer to people and whenever you saw him he always made you smile. He was my mentor and the reason I continued my education after Ivy Tech. Mr. Markwart changed many lives including mine. He will never be forgotten but always missed. God Bless
