Roger Dodrill Sr.

Dodrill Sr., Roger Timothy 77, of Newberry, South Carolina, formally Valparaiso, died Saturday, June 29, 2013, at Providence Hospital Northeast. Born on September 7, 1935, in Tioga, WV, he was a son of the late George and Ruby O. Hanna Dodrill. He began his working career at the age of 17 with Valparaiso Plumbing and Heating and later was able to purchase the business from which he retired after 48 years. Mr. Dodrill was a member of Lewis Memorial United Methodist Church, the Masons, the Eastern Star and the Rotary. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Kasten Dodrill; a son, Roger T. Dodrill, Jr. of Valparaiso, IN; a daughter, Carol Jean Blozis of Palm Harbor, FL; a sister, Margaret "Beth" E. Talbott of Prescott, AR; brothers, James E. Dodrill of Ruskin, FL, Howard L. Dodrill of Colon, MI, George E. Dodrill of Valparaiso, IN, K. Scott Dodrill of Palm Harbor, FL and William Z. Dodrill of Valparaiso, IN; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Letha Jo Barber and a brother, Charles W. Dodrill.
