a.k.a. "Dean", was born May 30, 1943, to the late Travis and Azalea Kendall in Dresden, Tennessee. Dean professed hope in Christ at an early age. December 31, 1963, Rogers married his late wife of 56 years, Georgia Kendall, and bore four children. He moved to Gary, IN in 1965, worked for U.S. Steel Mill, and retired in August 2003, after 38 years. Dean, loved by many, was a staple at Amvets Post 6. Known as "Daddy Dean" by his grandchildren, and "Uncle Dean" or "Cuz" by friends, will be greatly missed by all. He passed away on Monday, June 21, 2021. He was preceded in death by wife; daughter, Kathy; parents; and Larry Kendall. He leaves to cherish his memories, children: Keith (Delmar) Kendall, Karen (Gerald) Akujobi Sr., and Kim Kendall; grandchildren: Keevon Kendall, Kayla Akujobi, Gerald "Uche" Akujobi Jr., and Dara Glover; two great-grandchildren, Timothy and Tinsley; special son, Reginald Smith, and a host of other relatives and friends. Memorial service: Tuesday, June 29, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at the Guy & Allen Chapel, 2959 W. 11th Ave., Gary, IN.

There's no greater bond broken than that of a parent and child. The wound is deep and the sorrow is great. Therefore take consolation in the promise of Jesus Christ who gives the promise of eternal life in Him. God bless the Kendall family as Mr. Kendall take his rest.
