Age 65 a Indianapolis resident for 20 years passed away on Monday April 23, 2018. She was born on January 6, 1953 in Gary, Indiana to the late Rufus Sr. and Lillie Mae Owens. She graduated from Horace Mann High School class of 1972. Ruby retired from St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana with 18 years of service. Preceded in death by her parents, brothers, sisters, uncles, and aunts. She leaves to cherish her memories son Michael(Tonia) Rodgers, Tawanda (Shannon) Barnes; 6 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; brother Dwayne Owens; sister Jacqueline Jones and Deborah (Willie) Magee, aunts Dorothy Mae Brown of Arkansas, Jewel and Lois Owens and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation Friday May 4, 2018 from 12-8:00 p.m.with family hours from 6-8:00p.m. Funeral services Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 11:00a.m. all services at the Guy & Allen Chapel 2959 West 11th Avenue Gary, Indiana. Interment Oak Hill Cemetery.
