was born January 15, 1923 to the late Torather Moore-Harper-Jones and Edward Harper, Sr. in Bastrop, Louisiana. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha; two daughters: Dorothy and Betty; and three brothers: John, Edward, and Andrew. On Sunday, June 20, 2021, Samuel answered the call from the Lord to eternal rest. Samuel leaves to mourn his passing and to cherish his memory, two daughters: Cheryle Walker of Indianapolis, Indiana and Sheila Jeffries; one brother, Jerry (Gretchen) Barr of Clearlake, California; one sister, Toratha Jones Sims of Bastrop, Louisiana; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; eleven great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Visitation: Tuesday, June 29, 2021, 9:00a.m.-11:00a.m. with funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. All services to be held at Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, 1741 Fillmore St., Gary, IN. we would like to send our sympathy to the family of Mr. Harper we used to play cards with he and Mrs Harper back in the day at the center they both were great people to know and have as your friends we hadn't seen them in a while but we remained friends rest well together now and continue your love story
