I knew Sari in High School. Only just learned of her death. Very sad. She was a beautiful and popular girl. A tragic loss.

I was looking for sari on Facebook then found this. I knew her briefly but in that time she left such a great impression she worked on spinal cord where I worked. She was not your typical nurse. I used to hang out with her when she lived on cedar st. She had so many shoes and clothiers. She was the most generous person. Fun to bewith and an unforgettable laugh. How sad .

Being freshman roommates with Sari Asher at I.U.was an experience that I continue to talk about to this day! Sadly, we missed about 25 years of staying in touch but I am grateful to have gotten reacquainted in the past 5 years. Everyone who knew Sari learned something from her. She kept her life positive to the point that I never realized how serious her illness was. When I didn't hear from her for a while, a daughter of ours suggested that perhaps she had passed. It was then that we found the obit and I felt such sadness and loss. Would still love to hear from Lu or Hank. I have written to the Boca address but don't know if you ever got my letter. I will be thinking of your family as the anniversary of her death is approaching. Fondly....

Dear Asher Family:
I was not aware that Sari had passed until tonight. I was Sari's Office Manager for over 9 years - right up until she sold the business. The first time I met her (and interviewed), she was barefooted in the Valpo store. We took one look at each other and I knew that we would get along so well and we did!! She allowed me to take my work to TN while my Dad was sick (and ultimately passed). I will never forget her kindness. I am deeply saddened by her passing.
Love,

I knew Sari when I worked in the fashion industry. I thought that she was the grandest person and always lit up a room when she entered it. It was a good day when Sari came to visit. I actually did a trunk show in the Valpariso shop. The customers were like family coming to hang out and chat and perhaps try on and buy, a concept that worked quite well. I adored Sari and am shocked to hear of her passing. I send my condolences to all of her family and friends.

Dear Hank and Family -
Heartfelt condolences on the loss of your sister, Sari. I only met her once but the wonderful impression she made was a lasting one. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
Do not stand at my grave and weep;
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.

Dear Lu and Family~
We are so saddened to hear of Sari's passing. As many others have noted, Sari's enthusiasm was contagious! She was engergetic and full of spunk. Sari offered Bill and I many opportunities to share in the creative aspects of her business; we learned and grew as a result of those very rewarding times.
We will keep you all in our thoughts and prayers.

I got to meet Sari three times in the past few months. A very sweet, joyous person who I'm sorry I was not able to get to know better. She seems to have been all about being positive and optimistic, and was a great sister to Hank. I know especially from those who knew her best that she'll be greatly missed.

Lou and family, I want to express how sad I am to hear about Sari. Our days together in college were some of my best. Her enjoyment of life, her deep laugh and sense of adventure has stuck with me always. I was in Bloomington over homecoming and walking campus. Every where I walked I saw Sari and the fun we had there. I had no idea at the time she was ill. Lou I want you to know your kugel was the first and best I ever tasted. I have been a caterer for 25yrs. now and have been making it for clients but yours is still the best. Take Care. David " Thorn"

It is clear from reading the guest book that Sari touched many many lives. I had the pleasure of working for her at her Valpo store while in high school and college. Saris was a wonderful boss, a true mentor and had a zest for life that we should all try to emulate! She as always upbeat - and the twinkle in her eye was present each and every day. My sympathy to the family. God Bless.

Where do I start? Sari and I were sorority sisters, roommates and best friends during our days at IU. The news of her death hit me hard. I thought if anyone could beat cancer, it was Sari. Lu, Hank, Charlie and Tommy, my heart is broken too. I got out the old scrapbook and had a good cry after I heard the news. The up side of things is that it made me get in touch with some other friends from those days. Even in death, Sari is still bringing us together. My most heartfelt condolences to all of you.

I was fortunate to have worked for Sari, in her home in Michigan. This is how I will always remember her....Sari's attitude was like the sun, always bright no matter how gray the day. Even when it rained her rays of sunshine crept through.
She was always happy and her spirit alive and everlasting. She was grateful and never needed anything to satisfy her. She appreciated all she possessed and always talked about how blessed her life was. She was never interested in what anyone did for a living, just what their dreams and passions were.
She lived in joy...she was beauty itself. She believed, and used to say there were enough miracles to believe the impossible. She was a celebration of life...that's the way I will always remember her. I am grateful that she was a part of my life.
I would like to offer my warmest and deepest sympathies to Mama Lu, her brothers, and her nieces on their loss.
We will all miss her.
