Alan Hansen Obituary
Alan J. "Popeye" Hansen, age 48 of Chilton, died unexpectedly on Friday May 1, 2015 at his home following an apparent heart attack.
He was born on January 13, 1967 in Chilton, son of Diane (Boettcher) Hansen-Janke and the late Everett Hansen.
He married Brenda Dingeldein on July 7, 1990, and they later divorced.
He worked at the Ameriquip Co. in New Holstein for a couple of years, and in 1992 he became a licensed security guard with JJ Security, which is currently The Securitas Co. Since 2002 Alan worked security for Securitas at SCA Tissue in Menasha.
Alan was a very giving person who was always willing to lend a hand wherever needed.
He was a history buff, who loved guns, building clocks, and doing other woodworking projects, but the hobby he loved most was collecting Matchbox Cars with his grandson Lukas, who was his true pride and joy. Survivors include his mother, Diane Janke of Chilton; 2 daughters, Bonnie (Shawn) Krueger of Chilton, Melody Hansen of Chilton; a grandson, Lukas Krueger of Chilton; his ex-wife, Brenda Hansen of Kiel; a brother, Ed (Theresa) Hansen of Chilton; a sister, Tammy Wagner and fiancé Tom Grones of DePere; an aunt Nancy Boettcher of Marinette; a nephew, Justin Hansen and his significant other Jess Hoover; and 2 nieces, Holly (Billy) Lundquist; Sam (Arthur) Ebbinger and their daughter Kaylynn.
He was preceded in death by his father, Everett Hansen; his stepfather, Harley Janke; his grandparents, Ed and Irene Boettcher; an uncle, Donald Boettcher; and 2 aunts, Ethel (Marvin) Dionne, and Elaine (Donald Ahlberg.
Funeral services will be held at 5:30 PM on Friday May 8, 2015 at the Wieting family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton, with the Rev. Nathan Meador officiating. Visiting hours will be at the funeral home on Friday from 1 PM to 5:15 PM.
A memorial fund has been established in the name of Alan Hansen to help with expenses.
