Arlene Van Den Wildenberg

Arlene Van Den Wildenberg passed away at her home near Greenleaf on Tuesday evening, August 27, 2013, at the age of 81. She was born in Appleton on October 7, 1931, daughter of the late Harold and Margaret (Schultz) Rehfeldt. On July 19, 1952, she married Gerald Van Den Wildenberg at Zion Lutheran Church in Appleton; Jerry survives. Over the years, Arlene worked at Elm Tree Bakery, Rich's Bakery, and Quaker Bakery. In 1970, she and Jerry decided to take up farming near Greenleaf. The couple and their family were all longtime and faithful members.

Arlene is survived by her husband: Gerald Van Den Wildenberg of Greenleaf; three children: Lisa of Greenleaf; Rodney (Sandy) of Morrison; and Randy (Lorrie) of Florida; five grandchildren: Tabitha, Torey, Jason, Dan, and Jesse (special friend Debbie); ten great-grandchildren: Andrew, Leo, Hayden, Louie, Elijah, Estella, Kyndall, Bristol, Lance, and Lexie. She is also survived by two caring and special nieces who were like sisters and best friends: Julie Vanden Heuvel and Cecelia Fischer. Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter-in-law Heather, and sisters Jane (Don) Griesbach and Ethel (Tony) Boehler.

The funeral for Arlene will be held at 4:00 PM on Friday, August 30, 2013 at Zion Lutheran Church, 912 N. Oneida Street in Appleton, with Rev. Lloyd Luedeman officiating. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. Online condolences may be offered at www.wichmannfargo.com.

The family would like to thank everyone from Affinity Visiting Nurses Hospice for their wonderful care, the social workers, volunteers, nurses Gina and Kristin, who has quite the story to share about a certain hospital gown! A special thank you to our dear friend Linda - you will always hold a special place in our hearts.

My heartfelt sympathy goes out to the Van Den Wildenberg family for their loss. Arlene was an angel on earth always willing to do whatever was need for whoever asked and always so grateful to those that did anything for her or her family. I will miss Arlene greatly! My love and prayers go out to Lisa who sacrificed a lot to help care for her mother over the past several months. Lora Cornette

What a sweet daughter, sister, mother, and aunt, Arlene was. May the Lord Jesus comfort you as you walk this difficult journey of grief. What a wonderful picture of Aunt Arlene you published with her obituary! She always liked her hair brushed and talking with my dear mom before Mom raced off to Heaven. You are in my prayers, Lisa, Rodney and Randy (and your families). May God bless the memory of Arlene (Rehfeldt) Van Den Wildenberg. Lots of love, Kim
