Barbara Olm Obituary

Olm, Barbara L.

Barbara L. Olm, age 65, of Greenville, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 20, 2015, at Appleton Medical Center. Barb was born on May 9, 1949, in Rhinelander, the oldest daughter of Paul and Karen (Knudsen) Moritz. She married Donald Olm on August 4, 1973. They have two daughters, who Barb loved and was very proud of. When the children got a little older, Barb went back to school and achieved her Associate's Degree in Accounting, eventually working for Fiduciary Partners, a job and a group of people she loved. Barbara was a lifelong knitter, who specialized in "toe-up" socks. Barb's faith was very important to her and she was very active in Women's Celebration Ministry; "Life in the Spirit" and "Lord, Teach Us to Pray" Seminars, and loved the people at the churches they served. Being Nena to granddaughter, Bella, was very special to Barb.

Barbara is loved and will be missed by her husband, Pastor Don Olm of Greenville; daughters, Jennifer (Brian) Peat of Hendersonville, TN, and Lisa (Benjamin) Shaw of Murfreesboro, TN; granddaughter, Isabella Peat; mother, Karen Moritz of Rhinelander; sisters, Jeanne (Dennis) Lex of Groton, MA, Laurie Heidemann of Fort Worth, TX, and Cory (Bill) Hoffman of Rhinelander; many brothers and sisters in law, nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, and church families. She was preceded in death by her father, Paul Moritz.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, April 24, 2015, at Faith Community Church, N1966 Julius Drive, Greenville, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday, April 25, 2015, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Becky Kindschi officiating. Barb's family would like to thank the very special Fox Valley Hematology and Oncology and Radiation Oncology Specialists for the kindness and care given to Barb, and every patient in their care. Memorials may be directed to Susan G. Komen Foundation for breast cancer research.

I am sorry to hear of her passing. She had such a lovely, warm spirit. We met while she was working with my husband at BCI group. I ran into her a couple of months ago and she showed me pictures of her family and spoke of how proud she was of them. The world has lost a gentle spirit.

Barb's generosity with her time, ministry talents, and with her friendship are lifelong gifts to me and to Tom. I will miss our conversations together...always so easy and filled with love and acceptance. As a fellow pastor's wife, I couldn't think of a more beautiful person, inside and out, to minister to Greenville Church. With God's love and comfort to Don, Jenny and Lisa; Mary Lambrecht

My sympathies to Pastor Don Olm and daughters at the passing of Barbara, who was a good neighbor in the mid-70's in Marshfield, and thereafter a good friend for years, wherever we lived, going our separate ways.

Barb was such an inspiration to so many and a faithful servant of the Lord whom she loved. Her unwavering Faith remains a testimony today. She continues to witness to us even in her absence from sight but never from our hearts. Her friendship has impacted my life forever. Run free, dear friend. You are healed!
