Carole Beyersdorf Obituary

Beyersdorf, Carole Mae

Carole Mae Beyersdorf, age 93, was called to her eternal home in heaven on Monday, November 7, 2016. She was born on January 12, 1923, in the Town of Union (Waupaca County), the only child of Charles and Neta (Rowland) Winter. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Peters Lutheran Church, Big Falls, WI. Carole graduated from Little Wolf High School, Manawa in 1940. She received her degree in teaching from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point. On August 21, 1946, she married Arthur Beyersdorf at St. Peters Church, Big Falls by Rev. W. Lang. Art and Carole grew up in the same community and had gone to the same little country school, Shady Grove. They spent almost 62 years together when Art passed away on May 21, 2008. Carole pursued a career in teaching 38 years and has many fond memories of the students she taught. She taught in three rural schools, Shady Grove, State Road, and Cedar Dell. She had a part in publishing the Rural Schools of Waupaca County. She taught 3 years in Marion. In 1982, she retired after teaching the 4th grade for 24 years in Manawa. Throughout her life she had been a member of Christus Lutheran Church, Clintonville, Zion and St Paul, Manawa where she was involved in the Ladies Aid, Alter Guild, Flower Committee, Prayer Chain and also taught Sunday school and Vacation Bible School.

Carole loved doing puzzles of all kinds, attending plays and concerts put on by the schools and Lawrence Chapel, Organ Recitals, estate sales, socializing and going out to eat with friends and relatives. She also enjoyed a glass of wine, potato pancakes, and watching the ducks and geese on the lake from her patio. Her sense of humor, her smile and laughter touched so many lives. Her vitality and faith were an inspiration to many she met in her life.

Carole was very active in the Waupaca County Retired Educators, serving as Membership Chair, Vice-President and President, the Manawa Modern Homemakers, Manawa Woman's Club, Meals on Wheels, Bloodmobile, Election Board, Friends of the Library and helping at the Chicken Barbecue for the Manawa Lions Club where Art had been a member.

During their years together, Art and Carole did lots of traveling, including all 50 states, Mexico, and three times to Europe, with Ireland being one of their favorites. On August 18, 1996 they celebrated their 50th anniversary with a host of many relatives and friends.

In September 2003, they moved to Appleton. While there, they found it a privilege to attend services and Bible classes at Faith Lutheran Church where Carole made many new friends.

Carole is survived by many wonderful cousins and nieces, nephews and many dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her dear parents, her husband and best friend, Art, in-laws Albert and Mildred (Tellock) Beyersdorf, brother and sister in-law, Leonard and Mayme (Beyersdorf) Polzin, Glenn and Orville Beyersdorf, and the loss of many dear friends and relatives.

The funeral services for Carole will be held on Monday, November 14, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Manawa with Rev. Nathan Reichle officiating. The visitation will be at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Her final resting place will be next to her husband and parents in The Big Falls Cemetery.

Carole says, "Be happy for me. God blessed me with a good life, loving parents and wonderful marriage."

Your smile, laughter and stories will be missed this holiday season; but I am fortunate and blessed to have known you.

Carole had enough kindness, joy, humor, faith, and sass to make me want to be just like her. I enjoyed sitting with her and hearing her stories and about her love for her family. I consider her a dear friend and will miss hugging her at church every Sunday at Faith Lutheran Church in Appleton. Heaven celebrates to receive Carole!

I've seen her at several parties, weddings & funerals as my best friend married a Beyersdorf. I always kidded her as she was so strict! It was fun being able to kid around with her. She was really a lot of fun. I wouldn't have said that when I was in her class.

I haven't seen her in decades but remember her as my Sunday school teacher at Christus . A very sweet Lady. If I had seen her out and about I think I would have recognized her. Sorry for your loss.

We are sorry to hear of Carole's passing. She was such an amazing lady, so happy, full of life & a sense of humor. She could light up a room when she entered with her smile. She enjoyed life, lived it to the fullest & is now reunited with her parents & her husband, Art. When our Lord called her home, He left us with a gift of many memories of fun & laughter we shared with Carole. We enjoyed going out to eat with her & also an occasional glass of wine. We were blessed to know her & will miss her.
