Elaine Vollmer Obituary
Appleton - Elaine (Buhl) Vollmer, age 88 of Appleton, passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2020, at Century Oaks. She was born on July 13, 1931, in Chilton, daughter of the late Anton and Magdalena (Boll) Buhl. She graduated from Chilton High School in 1948 and went to work for Atty Carl Hofmeister. After marriage and moving to Appleton, she worked in various offices and worked as a Legal Secretary for over 27 years in the Outagamie County District Attorney's office. She married DuWayne Vollmer at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Chilton. They were divorced in 1973. She was a charter member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Appleton for over 50 years.
She is survived by her children: Sandra (Peter) Neveu of Appleton WI, James Vollmer and Scott (Stacy) Vollmer of Allen TX, grandchildren: Jennifer Glasheen of Neenah WI, Nicole Jesse of Appleton WI, Michael (Emma) Neveu of Appleton WI, Samantha Neveu of Madison WI and Luke Rasquinha of Allen TX, great-grandchildren: Emily Glasheen of Neenah WI, Matthew Glasheen of Neenah WI and James Neveu of Appleton WI and nephew Jay (Cathy) Paulsen of Punta Gorda FL.
She was preceded in death by her sister Arlene Buhl, brother Kenneth Buhl, sister Ethel Kuntsman and nephew Ty Paulsen.
Music was a very important part of Elaine's life. She was a member of Chaminade Chorus and a member of St. Thomas More Adult choir for over 25 years and St. Thomas More Resurrection Choir. She loved singing with various music groups.
Memorial Mass for Elaine will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 17, 2020, at the St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 1810 N McDonald St., Appleton. Friends and family may visit from 9:00 AM until the hour of service. Burial will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Appleton.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Century Oaks Retirement Home and Heartland Hospice for their excellent care of Elaine.
