Eunice E. Schroeder

Eunice Schroeder, age 91, of Menasha, passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2013. She was born on May 23, 1922 in Freedom, the daughter of the late Henry and Albertina (Boelter) Witt. Eunice attended grade school at St. Peter's School in Freedom. She worked as a nanny in Milwaukee and moved back to Appleton where she met Ray Schroeder and they were married on March 1, 1945. Ray had four children, Ray Jr., Jerry, Sandy, and Bob, and together they had six children.

Eunice had a passion for gardening, and after Ray's death in 1969, she ran her produce stand for a number of years. Many will remember her as a very good cook, especially her soup, and her working years at the Cimarron. Eunice was a member of Bethel Ev. Lutheran Church, Menasha for over 50 years.

She is survived by her children: Nancy (Bill) Kangas; Cynthia (Dennis) Kroes; Bonnie (Tom) Day; Andrew (Joy) Schroeder; and Fred (Teresa) Schroeder; grandchildren: Rob, Ranee, John, Cheri, Mike, Chris, Tim, Jeff, Vickie, Rick, Lisa, and Lynn; special "big grandmother" of Heather, Lexie, Zac, and Vinny. Eunice is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray; children: Ray Jr., Jerry, and Delroy; and her five sisters and four brothers, along with their spouses.

The funeral service for Eunice will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, November 4, 2013 at Bethel Ev. Lutheran Church, 829 Appleton Road in Menasha. Rev. Sam Degner will be officiating. Burial will take place at Highland Memorial Park in Appleton. A time of visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 am until the time of service.
