Kathy Weber Obituary

Weber, Kathleen M.

Kathleen Margaret Weber, age 77, died Tuesday, September 17, 2013, in New London, WI. She was born November 12, 1935, in Rosendale, WI, daughter of the late George and Kathleen Hill. She graduated from Waupaca High School in 1953 and received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Education in 1958 from Wisconsin State College in Milwaukee.

On August 12, 1958, she married James F. Weber at the First United Methodist Church in Waupaca. They started their family in Cedarburg and lived there for many years before moving to New London. Kathy taught in the School District of New London for 20 years at Readfield and Lincoln Schools, retiring in 1995. She was active with Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts, and was a member of various clubs: Junior Women's, Senior Women's and Bridge. Jim and Kathy celebrated 50 years of marriage with their family and friends in 2008.

Kathy appreciated art and worked on arts and crafts projects of her own including watercolor painting, cross stitch and rug hooking. She often said "there's no place I'd rather be" than at her cottage in Northern Wisconsin. She created many beautiful cards for friends and family at the dining room table, inspired by the beauty and nature surrounding her. Throughout her life, she loved the family cats and dogs. Christmas was her favorite holiday.

Kathy is survived by her husband James; sons Chris (Sandy) Weber of Cedarburg, WI and Pete (Jean) Weber of Ripon WI; grandson James Weber of Scottsdale, AZ; brother Robert (Janet) Hill of Lake Geneva, one granddog and six grandcats. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and other family and friends including close family friend Jorene Ziebell.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Kathleen, brother, Charles Hill and her sisters, Pat (William) Bruns and Eileen (Roland) Garlid.

A celebration of Kathy's life/memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at First Congregational United Church of Christ with Rev. Greg Watling officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.

Private interment will be held at a later date at Zur Ruhe Cemetery in Cedarburg.

A memorial fund has been established.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at St. Joseph Residence and New London Family Medical Center.
