Kun Kwon Obituary

Kwon, Kun

Kun Kwon, Menasha passed away Sept. 1, 2011, peacefully in her home with her loved ones.

Kun immigrated from S. Korea in 1979, and worked at Oshkosh B'Gosh and Anchor Foods Inc until her retirement in 2002. She was always a hard worker as well as a loving grandmother, mother, wife, and friend. She enjoyed quiet walks, gardening, and cooking for her friends and family. She was a strong, and giving person, always lighting up the room, even in her final days.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Tae Kwon, Menasha; son, Yong (Gayle) Kwon; daughter, Mia (Brian) Gauthier; granddaughters, Hannah (Matt) Schuchhardt, Laura Kwon, Becca Kwon, Mellisa Gauthier; a grandson, Nicholas Gauthier; a niece, Mi Sook (Jim) Orlando; and her loyal and caring friend, Robin (Bruce).

The memorial service will be held on Monday, Sept. 5, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Highland Memorial Park, 3131 N. Richmond Street, Appleton. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in her honor to the National Kidney Foundation.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Curtis Baltz and his staff and Fresenius Medical Care Home Dialysis department for their dedication and Theda Clark Hospice for helping the family through this difficult time. Through the entirety of Kun's battles with health, these people cared for Kun as more than just a patient; they treated her like a friend. For that, the family is especially thankful.

Grandma,

You have not only shown us how to be strong and respectful, but you taught us about love. You were courageous and caring, and it was impossible for anyone that met you not to love you. Thank you for every meal you ever cooked for us, as well as any kind words you have shared. You are an unforgettable woman, and we will think of you often with only the best thoughts.

Love,

Hannah, Laura, Becca,

Mellisa, and Nick.

I'm very saddened to read of Kun's passing. For many years I worked as the nurse for Dr. Baltz and came to know Kun. She had a zest for life and always a smile. I'm sorry for your loss, I hope your fond memories help you during this difficult time.
