Laura Batterman Obituary
Laura A. Batterman, age 49, of Hortonville, died Monday, August 22, 2011, at Theda Clark Medical Center.
Laura was born on May 1, 1962, in Neenah, WI, the daughter of Harry Michelkamp and Elaine (Kirschling) Van Zummeren. She graduated from Neenah High School in 1980 and was employed at Plexus in Neenah from that time until the present. On October 4, 2003, Laura married Brian Batterman in Appleton, WI. She was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Hortonville, where she was also involved with the Catholic Heart Work Camp.
Laura enjoyed flower gardening, walking, camping, watching fireworks, attending parades, the outdoors, and smelling the fresh air.
Laura is survived by her husband, Brian Batterman; children, Ashley (Kyle) Norman and Drew Brunkey; step-children, Angela, Amanda, and Breyton Batterman; mother and step-father, Elaine Van Zummeren and Peter Tracanna; father and step-mother, Harry and Marlene Michelkamp; sister, Lynn (Pat) Nichols; godson, Jordan Nichols; father-in-law and mother-in-law, William and Darlene Batterman; brothers-in-law, Tom Batterman and David (Katy) Batterman; sisters-in-law, Carole Batterman-West (Mike Gick) and Sherri Batterman; many other aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her sister, Sharon Michelkamp; paternal grandparents, Baldus and Belvina Michelkamp; maternal grandparents, Frank and Irene Kirschling; step-grandmother, Hildegard Kirschling; and brother-in-law, William C. Batterman II.
The Mass of Christian Burial for Laura will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 27, 2011, at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 105 N. Olk St. Hortonville, with Father James Feely and Greg Layton officiating. Family and friends are invited to call directly at church Friday evening from 4:00 p.m. until 6:45 p.m. and again directly at church Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. A prayer service will be held Friday evening at church at 6:45 p.m.
A memorial fund has been established in Laura's name.

I met Laura at Plexus in May-2011 during Customer Audit. After the audit we happened to talk about trails, since walking & hiking is the passion I cherish. Laura sent me some trails info in Neenah area and mentioned how she also enjoys the outings. Last week at Plexus I found out when we were driving through corporate office. I am deeply saddened. My thoughts to the family members. It's tough time for you all. I pray almighty GOD to give you the strength to survive this loss. TOUGH TIME DOESN'T LAST BUT WITH PATIENCE AND TIME I AM SURE YOU ALL WILL.

I knew Laura throughout our school years and then we parted ways. I never stopped remembering her smiles and friendship. I worked on most of the reunions and though of her often. What a great person. My prayers are with you, the family, knowing that she left you with warm memories. God Bless you all.

My deepest sympathies to Brian and the kids and the Michelkamp family. Laura will be missed. She always had a smile and took the time to stop and talk to the employees at Plexus that she hadn't seen in a while when she would do the corporate quality audits.
