Robert Julius "Bob" Larson

Robert Julius "Bob" Larson, age 86 of Appleton and Town of Center, passed away on Monday, February 13, 2012 at St. Paul Elder Services, Kaukauna. Bob was born on August 12, 1925 in Chicago, Illinois, son of the late Ellen Larson. He grew up in Port Wing, WI and graduated from Port Wing High School. On February 3, 1964, Bob was united in marriage to Louise Krueger; she preceded him in death on May 25, 2006. They resided in the Town of Center, where they built their home with love. Bob worked for Neenah Foundry as a yard crane operator until his retirement. After his retirement, he worked as a bagger for Sentry Foods for many years. Bob loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He also had a special place in his heart for his little companion, Corky. He was a longtime member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Appleton, and a veteran of the United States Army Air Corp.

Bob is survived by four children, Richard Larson, New Jersey, Robert Larson, Appleton, Karen (special friend Dick Moderson) Bruehl, Appleton, and Lori (Leighon) Pynenberg, Appleton; two step-children, Cindy (Mike) Beson, Appleton, and Tim Larson, Appleton; step-daughter-in-law, Carol (special friend Mark) Larson, Neillsville, WI; nine grandchildren, Lisa (special friend Todd Jensen) Schweda, Oshkosh, Shane Frenche, Appleton, Bill (Kris) Bruehl, Kaukauna, Brian (Sheri) Krueger, Black Creek, Keith (special friend Heather) Krueger, Freedom, Kristi (Keith) Piechocki, Shiocton, Andrea and Anthony Schwartz, Lanesboro, MN, and Greg (Jamie) Larson, Appleton; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Charlotte Kano, Crystal Springs, IL; sisters-in-law, Verona Luebke, Leona Plamann, Pauline Buss, and Verla Koerner; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was further preceded in death by an infant son; daughter, Susan Krueger; step-sons, Charles Schwartz and John Larson; his brother, Gus Larson; a granddaughter, Carrie Ann; and also by sisters and brothers-in-law.

The funeral service for Bob will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at ST. JOHN EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, N3505 Hwy 47, Appleton, with Rev. Jeffrey Suhr and Rev. Micah Martin officiating. Friends may call on Thursday at Church from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Interment will take place at Twelve Corners Cemetery, Town of Center. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the entire staff at Appleton Medical Center, St. Paul Elder Services, and St. Paul Hospice for the loving care and companionship shown to him.
