Roy W. Reinhardt

Roy Wallace Reinhardt, age 82 of Shawano, passed away Saturday, March 23, 2013 at his home. Born on May 4, 1930 in Oshkosh, he was the son of the late Walter and Edith (Miller) Reinhardt. Roy grew up in the Oshkosh area where he helped his father work the family farm. On July 19, 1952 he was united in marriage to Janet Meltz in Oshkosh. In 1956 the couple moved to the Pulaski area where they purchased their own farm and raised their family. During that time, Roy was also the Assessor for the Towns of Angelica and Maple Grove for a total of 29 years. When not working the farm, he was an avid reader and especially enjoyed agricultural topics. Roy's biggest joy in life came from the time he spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed traveling, trains, and his daily Bible meditation. After retiring from farming, the couple moved to the Shawano area and has called it home since 1995. Roy was a member of the St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church in the Town of Angelica where he previously served on the Church Council. He was also a member of the ASCS Committee of Shawano County and was a former member of the Shawano County Board.

Roy is survived by: his loving wife of 60 years, Janet; his 4 children, Charles (Debra) Reinhardt of Sun Prairie, Bonnie (fiancé, Keith) Reinhardt of Green Bay, Keith (Debbie) Reinhardt of Gillett, Glenn (Cheryl) Reinhardt of New Berlin; 7 grandchildren, Heather (Doug) Lenz, Nick (special friend, Dani) VanEgeren, Tricia (Steve) LaLuzerne, Karla (Jon) Habeck, Doug (Lynn) Reinhardt, Brad Reinhardt, Nikki (special friend, Jason) Reinhardt; 6 great-grandchildren, Kaelyn, Braedyn, Hayley, Austin, Mackenzie, Luke; a brother, Fredrick (Bernice) Reinhardt; a sister-in-law, Sue Reinhardt; and several nieces and nephews.

Roy was preceded in death by: his parents; and a brother, Carl.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at the St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church in the Town of Angelica with the Rev. Virgil Hanson officiating. Entombment will be in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd in Green Bay. Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 9:00am until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church are appreciated. Swedberg-Wendt Funeral Home in Bonduel is assisting the family with the arrangements.
