Shane Van Wyk Obituary
Shane Lee Van Wyk, 35, of Appleton, passed away on Friday, May 9, 2014. Shane was born in Neenah on September 18, 1978 to the late David Lee Porter and Vicki (Van Wyk) Picard. Shane grew up in Appleton and received his education there.
Shane was an avid card player; he enjoyed fishing and playing video games.
He is survived by his children; Dalton, Delta, and Dallas Van Wyk, his mother, Vicki (Peter)Picard, brother, Luke Picard and sister, Bridgette Picard, his grandmothers; Lolamae Van Wyk, Ruth Porter, and Jean Picard, a niece, Lily Mullens, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Shane was preceded in death by his father David, and his grandfathers; Robert Van Wyk, Robert Porter, and Roger Picard Sr.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at 7:00 PM at Valley Funeral Home 2211 N. Richmond St., inurnment will take place at a later date. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Wednesday from 5:00 PM until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to his children's education

Aunt Vicki & Uncle Pete,
Most of my memories of Shane are from the few visits I had as a kid, but one that sticks out out is fishing down at Jefferson Park, and then riding Shane's bike back, he on the seat and me peddling away. I will miss him more than most know. I love you all very much.
