Wayne La Count Obituary

La Count, Wayne G.

Wayne G. La Count, age 69, of Oneida passed away peacefully from pancreatic cancer on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Bellin Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born September 10, 1944, a son of the late George and Irene (La Pacz) La Count.

On September 4, 1970 he was united in marriage to Kay Vande Wettering at St. Nicholas in Freedom.

Wayne worked in the concrete construction industry most of his life. He enjoyed his time working with the Larsen family from Green and Gold Concrete as a cement truck driver.

Wayne was a man of his word, expected the same in return and didn't believe in being late for anything.

He was a member of several horse pulling clubs, participating and attending many horse pulling events over the years, usually with an Old Style in hand. Wayne and Kay shared many dances together on Sundays at Romy's.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Kay; two sons: Keith (Nicci Schmit) La Count, Oneida; and Tim La Count, Seymour; brothers and sisters: Nancy (Lester) Ness, Jim (Linda) La Count, Carol (Bud) Wojciehowski, Bill (Joyce) La Count, Richard La Count, Eugene (Pam) La Count, Lawrence La Count, and Daniel La Count; god daughter, JoAnn Loeffler; and further survived by his in-laws, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother Donald, and sister, Arlene La Count.

It was Wayne's wish to be cremated. Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, on Thursday, May 8, 2014 from 4 pm until the memorial service at 7:30 pm. Online condolences may be expressed at www.muehlboettcher.com
