William Mosurinjohn Obituary

Mosurinjohn, William C.

William (Wasyl) C. Mosurinjohn went to be with the Lord and his wife, Evelyn "Evie" on July 11, 2011, after a long battle with cancer.

In a one room cabin in Shell Valley, Manitoba, Canada on Jan. 7, 1927, William was born to Jean (Sawchuk) and John Mosurinjohn. He worked for Silverman's Grocery and later for Rapid Grip and Batton Engraving Company, both of Winnipeg, Manitoba. At age 17, he joined the Canadian Army. In 1950, he married Evelyn Kurtz. He and Evie moved down to Neenah, Wis., in 1955, to take on a photo engraving position with the Marathon Corp., then becoming American National Can Company. There they stayed and raised their family of three children.

William was quite the gardener, artist and golfer. He enjoyed dancing with his wife, classical music, and cheering for the Green Bay Packers. He was a wise man. He loved his children and grandchildren well.

He is survived by his sons, Craig and Jeff, daughter, Laurie, and their spouses; nine grandchildren and a great-grandchild who already miss him very much.

The Memorial Service for William will be held on Friday, Aug. 5, 2011, 1:30 p.m., at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Neenah, with the Rev. Catherine A.K. Mode officiating. Visitation will begin Friday at 12:30 p.m. until the hour of the service at the church. Inurnment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Neenah.

I will miss "Bood" with all my heart. I had the best years of my young life spending time with the Mosurinjohn family. We played countless rounds of golf with "Bood" along with many nights around the campfires in Door County. He was a kind soul with a positive outlook on life. Thanks for all the wonderful memories that I will carry with me forever.

Nobody has ever had a better neighbor than Bud. For a decade my wife, kids and I enjoyed enjoyed regular contact with Bud on Wenban Ave. and never once did he have a bad word to say. I will now miss my occasional bike rides to the old neighborhood hoping to see Bud in the yard and having a short chat. I will also regret not making more of those bike rides. Goodbye, my friend and neighbor.

William "Bood" Mosurinjohn was like a second father to me for many years. I golfed with him, sat on the beach at Point Beach, cheered on the Packers, joined in for Super Bowl parties, tailgated at Brewer and Packer games, and had many fireplace-side chats with him. Thanks for the memories "Bood". You will be missed. God Bless. Paul R. Blackmon
