Aubree Skye Stewart, 20, of Ammon, passed away Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center of complications of the flu.
Aubree was born Feb. 6, 1992, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Kenneth Michael Stewart and Brenda Lee Powell Stewart. The family moved to Idaho Falls when she was just a year old and she grew up in Idaho Falls and Ammon. She attended Hawthorne and Hillview Elementary Schools, Sandcreek Middle School, and graduated from Hillcrest High School in 2010.
Aubree worked as a cashier at Wal-Mart in Ammon and loved her job. She was engaged to be married in February to Christian Shinsky.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, loved listening to music, reading and helping her mother groom dogs. Aubree was always sweet and nice to everyone. She always touched the hearts of every person she met in life, and if she smiled at you, you could not help but smile back. She loved animals and kids and was trying to find a way to further her career in one of those fields.
Aubree is survived by her parents, Ken and Brenda Powell of Ammon; brother, Brent Michael Stewart of Ammon; fiance, Christian Shinsky of Idaho Fall; grandfathers, Thomas Lee Powell and Remas (Shirlene) Stewart, both of Idaho Falls; grandmother, Elaine Mitchell of Hampton, Va.; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Dorothy Powell and Nancy Powell; a grandfather, Robert Mitchell; an aunt, Paulette Pochop; a cousin, Geoffrey Hough; and an uncle, Sidney Mitchell.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, at the Ammon LDS 6th Ward, 2150 Avocet, with Bishop Cam Payne officiating. The family will visit with friends from noon to 12:45 p.m. Wednesday before services at the church. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
Donations are welcome to a fund for "Aubree's Final Expenses" account No. 2044996169, at Wells Fargo Bank.

k.whinyates. I don't know you but heard about you from my friend Cody Mariani. We were friends on Facebook. He told me he really misses Aubree. Also that she was like a sister to him. I was sorry to hear the sad story that she passed away. I know she'll be very proud of Cody. He is keeping the promise he made to her to be a good man. She sounds like a really lovely young lady. My condolences to the family and to Cody too. Stay healthy, Stay safe.
